Below is a list of NON-STATE function amendments proposed by the Senate Finance Committee to the STATE Operating Budget (HB 1, 2007 R.S.).

I’ve attempted, as best I could, to break them down into several categories: 1) The Unknown, 2) Religious entities, 3) Major charities, 4) Civic Clubs 5) Non-governmental entities and finally 6) Local governmental entities.

The funding of major charities and private member-only clubs was a first for me.

Regardless of category or worthiness, none should be funded by STATE tax dollars. They should be funded by either private dollars or with local tax dollars.

I did not include any of the committee’s additions to state agencies.

HB 1 is currently pending approval on the Senate Floor.
