Here is an except from Thursday’s Daily Monopoly:

[New Orleans Police Deputy Chief John Bryson] also proclaimed that New Orleans “has been one of the safest cities in the world.”

He acknowledged it may not appear so, but said it will “once again” be the safest once the “drug situation” and “economic situation” come under control.

In other words, like Mayor Ray Nagin is fond of saying, the crime problem in New Orleans is NOT THE NOPD’S FAULT!

Speaking of safe cities in the world, NOPD Superintendent Warren Riley is somewhere in Norway attending a seminar.
