Pay raise vetoed!!! Monday, Jun 30 2008
Bobby vetoed the lege pay raise.
It is a great victory by and for the people of LA.
Give yourself a pat on the back for me.

Above Bobby meets with Lege leaders
“But we did tell the Legislature that we would allow them to run their internal affairs during this session,” he said. “We drove the agenda during the first two special sessions, so the third session was theirs.” Monroe News-Star, June 28, 2008.
So Bobby got two special sessions to pass whatever he wanted. The leges got the regular session to pass whatever they wanted. When do the people get a session?
“The legislature is a separate branch of government and must manage their own affairs.” Press Release from Governor’s Office, June 13, 2008.
Despite the state constitution, earlier this year, Bobby picked the Speaker of the House and President of the Senate as well as most of the committee chairmen in each house.
Bobby and Speaker-Designate Jim Tucker had a show-down over the chairmanship of the House Appropriations Committee. Bobby had promised the job to Rep. Noble Ellington. Tucker had promised it to Rep. Eddie Lambert. Both blinked and compromised by appointing Rep. Jim Fannin.
Does this sound like the leges managing their own affairs?
Secret meeting exposed!
I have obtained a copy of a legally-recorded tape of a secret meeting between Bobby and the leges to cut the deal on the pay raise. To listen go here.

After considerable legal research, I have determined that LA does not have a State Fowl.
Below is my suggestion.
