See this man?

Rep. John LaBruzzo, R-Metairie, is one of the most out-spoken and biggest whiners about the need for a lege pay raise.

The Times Picayune reports ( story here) that LaBruzzo doesn’t regularly attend the lege meetings which he is required to attend. He makes the feeble excuse that he had to leave for doctors’ appointments, wakes, etc. For a young man, he must have a lot of medical problems.

Apparently LaBruzzo forgot that he was being paid a salary, plus per diems, expenses and other perks to be a lege. As such, LaBruzzo’s first obligation should be to his employer, the people of Louisiana.

All properly called lege committee hearings require 24-hour advance notice. Most doctors will not charge a patient for missing an appointment if they notify them 24-hours in advance that they will not be able to make the appointment.

According to his website LaBruzzo’s “day job” is as a medical equipment representative. It makes one wonder how many of the doctors’ appointments were actually sales calls?   Perhaps he is confusing his job as State Representative with that of being a sales representative.

Session upcoming

By way of advance notice to LaBruzzo, there will be a lege session starting at Noon on March 29 and ending on June 21 at 6:00 PM.

Try not to make any medical or other appointments that will conflict your attendance at the session. It’s your job to represent your constituents at the lege meetings. Perhaps the representative needs a representative to represent him.

Finally, Rep. LaBruzzo, if you don’t have time to do the job or are too ill to do the job, resign so your constituents can find a replacement that has the time to represent them.
