She’s legal now

Back in May I wrote a piece about Stafford Palmieri, policy director for Bobby Jindal driving a vehicle with a New York license plate.

Team Jindal flack, Kyle Plotkin, said the “car belongs to Palmieri’s father and that she is borrowing it.” Advocate, April 22, 2012.

Louisiana law requires new residents of this state to register their vehicles within 30 days of establishing residency. No exception to the law for driving daddy’s car.

The situation was worse than initially thought. Ms. Palmieri didn’t even have a valid LA Driver’s license.

I was just informed that, recently, Ms. Palmieri obtained a valid LA Driver’s license, paid the taxes due and registered daddy’s car in conformity with LA law.

There’s only one question remaining: will Bobby fire Palmieri for being a scofflaw and tax-dodger?
