Shocking court ruling Wednesday, Oct 17 2012

Common sense happens
The unanimous decision by the LA Supremes naming Justice Bernette Johnson as the next Chief Justice was shocking.
It was the first time since the 1974 Constitution was adopted that the court went against a sitting governor’s position.
Bobby Jindal wanted Justice Jeff Victory to be the next Chief Justice. Jindal wasted quite a bit of our tax dollars pushing for Victory despite previously saying that he would not get involved.
Second, rather than torture logic and the law, the court said the words as written mean exactly what they mean. That profound bit of judicial reasoning only took 20 pages to state.
The clarity of the ruling can only be attributed to the fact that there is not a single word in the constitutional provision in question of greater than two syllables.
One can only hope that this is the beginning of more lucid intervals from the members of the “high court.”
