Advocate reporter Michelle Millhollon secured a copy of Bobby Jindal’s secret memo outlining what taxes he plans to raise. ( See report here.)

Jindal has been circulating the memo in smoked-filled rooms with leges.

Based on the information in Michelle’s story here are some key figures:

– Raising the cigarette tax by a dollar a pack will generate approximately $300 Million.

– Raising the state sales tax by 1.78 cents will generate approximately $1.3 Billion.

– That leaves roughly $1.4 Billion to be raised by other tax increases.
