A report from the Baton Rouge Advocate discusses the impact of the state personal income tax on the salaries of non-resident, professional, athletes who perform in Louisiana.

These individual will save a lot of money under Bobby Jindal’s tax swap by the elimination of the state income tax. However, because of Jindal requirement that the tax repeal be “revenue neutral” that means the revenues will now come from the state sales taxes.

While they are in Louisiana, it’s doubtful that these athletes spend a great deal of money on consumables which are subject to the sales tax.

Obviously, Jindal is catering to folks who live and vote in other states at the expense of us Louisiana residents.
